Independent Momdoulary Certified Professionals are able to offer you the following courses, typically including the In-home Childbirth Ed class and 1-3 additional topics as part of their basic doula service package, with others often available at an additional fee. Look for a Certified Momdoulary Professional in Your Area to who will provide the following!:
- In-Home Childbirth Ed class, “Baby Steps to Birth” where you will learn how to work with your birth support team to find your way through labor one contraction at a time, fully supported, as well as gaining an understanding of the evidence-based science behind medical interventions and when and how they can be useful and necessary. We will help you arrive at your baby’s birth day well-informed of pain and symptom management options. It may be natural for your body to birth, but sometimes we need a little assistance, and it is wise to know your options. Learn the anatomy and physiology of childbirth, stages and phases of labor, labor signs and symptoms, how to time contractions, what to expect in the hospital, and address your concerns about labor while learning how to relax into an experience in a way that will allow for adaptability based upon the challenges that present on your particular journey. This is typically part of basic doula service, and is provided in-home
- Newborn Care Basics where you will learn all the basic elements of newborn care, including feeding, sleeping, changing, and caring for baby overall, with a special focus on comfort measures and managing the balancing act that is the life as parent of a newborn!
- Breastfeeding Basics where you will learn about your milk supply, how to get a good start with nursing your baby, how to get a great lath, how to trouble-shoot latch problems, positions and holds, how to pump & store breastmilk, and much more!
- *Birth Rocks and Birth Ball BonanzaWhere you will learn how to use your birth ball to ease the stress of labor as you rock your baby into the world.
- *Self-Care in the Postpartum Daze New parents often find themselves surprised at just how exhausting the postpartum time can be! Join us to learn how to prepare to support yourself with the best self-care (while you are caring for your new baby!) in the post-partum days, which can be so tiring they feel more like a post-partum daze!
- Organizing Home and Life for Baby Take a walk through your expectations about your home life and parenting journey through the eyes of a professional organizer and parent educator! Learn how to look around your home, and at the structure of your life, to create a better environmental support system for creating the life you envision! C
- Green Baby: Organic Baby Food Making Class Join us to learn how to make your own home-made organic baby food!

- *Birthnotics: This class teaches a combination of hypnosis techniques, visualization, and NLP (neurolinguistic programming) techniques designed to make birth a calmer, more relaxed experience.

Also covers lifestyle changes, and the basic impact on the ways you move through the world once you have a little one with you.
- COMBO CLASS: Birth Journey Art & Journaling Adventure: Prepare for childbirth and parenting using art and journaling exercises to explore the emotions and challenges encountered along the pathway to parenting!
- COMBO CLASS: Interviewing Pediatricians/Interviewing Daycares COMBO CLASS: This class combines the best material from two of our classes in one evening, where you can learn tips regarding the questions to ask, and things to look for when interviewing a pediatrician and/or a daycare or baby-sitter.
- COMBO CLASS: Organizing Home and Life for Baby/And Baby Makes 3 COMBO CLASS: This class combines the best material from two of our classes in one evening, where you can explore ways in which your life will change once your baby arrives, and how to better organize your home, life, and priorities to best handle the tremendous learning curve of new parenthood.
- *COMBO CLASS: Conversations With Your Doctor/Self-Care During the Postpartum Daze This class combines the best material from two of our classes in one. Explore questions to ask your doctor to better prepare for your birth, as well as what to expect in the hospital before, during, and after the delivery, and what to expect during the postpartum healing period.
- *Intimacy During the Birth Year and Beyond This class explores the impact your changing body, energy level, and lifestyle commitments can have on your intimate life.
